        KHSA is part of the Knowledge Centre for Organic Agriculture in Africa (KCOA), a collaborative country-led partnership funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and non-governmental organisations across Africa. The project aims to scale up adoption of organic farming practices through five knowledge hubs in Africa over a four-year period. The South African-based Sustainability Institute supports project implementation in the region. Activities are focused in Zambia, led by Participatory Ecological Land Use Management (PELUM) Zambia; in Namibia led by the Namibia Nature Foundation (NNF) in collaboration with the Namibian Organic Association (NOA); and in South Africa led by the South African Organic Sector Organisation (SAOSO). The project has also extended to Malawi bringing on board Kusamala and Soils, Food and Health Communities organisations. The other hubs are implemented by GIZ in North, West and Eastern and Central Africa.<\/p>

        KHSA goal: To provide validated and context-specific technical knowledge on organic agriculture to stakeholders in Southern Africa to promote widespread adoption of the approach.<\/p>

        KHSA objectives:<\/p>

        • Gather and validate technical and methodological knowledge of organic agriculture along the value chain.<\/li>
        • Disseminate locally adapted validated technical and methodological knowledge on organic agriculture through the value chain and to government and consumer stakeholder groups.<\/li>
        • Strengthen market linkages and consumption patterns for organic products.<\/li>
        • Support coordination of stakeholders in the sector<\/li><\/ul>
